2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V Shocks the EV World With 519 HP and Supercar-Level Acceleration

The 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V marks the next chapter in the brand’s fifth-generation V-Series lineup, expanding Cadillac’s performance identity into a new electric space. Designed to feel youthful, athletic and unmistakably V-Series, OPTIQ-V blends high-output performance with modern luxury and advanced EV technology.

At its core, OPTIQ-V delivers serious performance. Cadillac estimates up to 519 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, or 880 Nm, when Velocity Max is engaged. That translates to a Cadillac-estimated 0–96 km/h time of just 3.5 seconds in Velocity Max, placing OPTIQ-V firmly in performance territory while remaining fully electric.

According to John Roth, vice president of Global Cadillac, V-Series continues to define the brand’s performance legacy. He notes that OPTIQ-V plays a key role in expanding that legacy by welcoming new customers while reinforcing Cadillac’s global presence.

OPTIQ-V will be sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Middle East and Israel, with production scheduled to begin in fall 2025. Canadian pricing will be announced closer to launch.

A first for GM charging architecture

The 2026 OPTIQ-V is also a milestone vehicle for General Motors. It is the first GM product to feature a native NACS, or North American Charging Standard, port built directly into the vehicle. This move simplifies EV ownership by providing direct access to a wide and reliable fast-charging network across North America.

John Cockburn, OPTIQ-V chief engineer, describes the integrated NACS port as an important step forward that reflects GM’s engineering leadership and its commitment to giving customers more charging flexibility and convenience.

Built for confident and engaging driving

OPTIQ-V was engineered with driving enthusiasts in mind. The development team focused on aerodynamics, weight balance, agility and safety to create a vehicle that feels confident and composed through corners while remaining approachable for everyday driving.

Cockburn explains that the V-Series evolution was a natural fit for OPTIQ’s underlying architecture. With Cadillac’s signature isolated precision ride and handling, tighter steering, an enhanced suspension setup and summer-only tire availability, OPTIQ-V delivers quicker cornering and a more engaging overall drive.

Standard dual-motor all-wheel drive supports the performance package. Power delivery is sharpened through Velocity Max, a driver-selectable feature that unlocks the vehicle’s full performance capability when activated.

An 85 kWh battery pack provides up to a Cadillac-estimated 443 kilometres of range on a full charge, balancing performance with real-world usability.

Performance-focused technology

OPTIQ-V adds a suite of advanced performance technologies designed to give drivers control and confidence.

V-Mode allows drivers to save personalized performance settings including Competitive Mode and a unique sound experience. These settings can be accessed instantly via the dedicated V button on the steering wheel or through the Drive Mode app on the large central display.

Launch Control is designed for repeatable straight-line performance. When engaged in V-Mode or Velocity Max, it enables the 3.5-second 0–96 km/h acceleration.

Competitive Mode introduces traction management features engineered to enhance agility and responsiveness.

Standard Brembo front performance brake calipers deliver strong and fade-resistant stopping power. Blue or red calipers are available, each accented with V-Series branding.

Standard Super Cruise capability is included, offering hands-free driver assistance on compatible roads with a three-year plan included.

Distinctive V-Series design

Visually, OPTIQ-V is immediately recognizable as a V-Series model. Blue accents feature prominently throughout the exterior, including available royal blue six-piston Brembo brake calipers. Blue detailing also appears in the precision-pattern etching on the rear quarter windows, inspired by the V-Series badge.

A unique front fascia sets OPTIQ-V apart, highlighted by V-pattern mesh in the lower grille, a high-gloss black front splitter, rocker extensions and body-coloured lower trim. An available carbon fibre package adds a carbon fibre front splitter, rear diffuser and rear mid-spoiler for a more aggressive look.

V-Series badges appear on the rear doors, liftgate and driver-side grille element, while the liftgate also features a gloss black rear lower diffuser.

Standard 21-inch satin graphite alloy wheels are paired with low-profile tires and laser-etched V-Series badging. Buyers can choose between standard summer tires or available all-season tires. Optional polished and painted 21-inch wheels in a dark sport finish are also offered.

A black painted roof and panoramic fixed glass roof are standard. Two limited-edition exterior colours debut for OPTIQ-V: Magnus Metal Frost, a matte metallic grey with warm highlights, and Deep Ocean Tintcoat.
